Ultra Lightweight Structure

After we launched our new frame system with a built-in-seat, the average bag weight dropped 2.5 lbs.

Still, people wanted a lighter bag. Structurally, it was so simple to lighten the weight by removing the seat function which reduced the weight by 2 lbs. Simple right? Remove the seat? Well, at that point, I faced a big decision—seat or lightweight? The best answer was to introduce a NEW model WITHOUT a seat and thus the ZipCart was born weighing only 5 1/4 lbs.

After a period of time, our “ultra lightweight luggage” sales surpassed the seat models—in fact sales doubled!  The market chose lightweight, and, if there is one thing I’ve learned for sure in this business it is that the market is always right.
