Bag for Mobility Solutions
My belief remained strong that there were other people who needed a mobility solution just like me..
So, I set out to create a bag you could “lean on” while walking and “carrying your essentials” with the overall improvement being mobility. That was my goal. But, as I mentioned, I faced one problem. Our young, energetic staff had no such need to "lean on" on a bag while walking. They had never had trouble with their legs, knees, or back and couldn’t envision that the lean-on benefit could transform the luggage industry as we knew it. I had to patiently convince them that improved mobility could indeed provide customers looking for light weight luggage definite added value.
Because we received a plethora of mail telling us, “I need a small mobility bag that I can fit behind my feet while I commute to work” or “I want small bag for commuting on the bus” I had a firm belief that this bag for mobility solutions will sell.
And the result? 30% of our overall sales now come from this type of small mobility bag in Japan. This number continues to increase as of 2011.
